On Sunday, a serious accident occurred in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir, involving three buses that were transporting pilgrims to the Amarnath Yatra. Officials reported that at least ten individuals suffered injuries due to the collision.
The police indicated that the impact of the crash was significant enough to cause damage to all three vehicles. Following the incident, the affected pilgrims were transferred to other buses to continue their pilgrimage.
One of the injured passengers shared that their group had departed early in the morning. 'Around 10 to 11 people were hurt. We are all from Madhya Pradesh and were traveling from Amarnath to Vaishno Devi, having left at 3 AM. After the accident, we were taken to the hospital where we are receiving excellent care,' he stated.
Another injured individual, Bhagirath from Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh, mentioned, 'I came for the yatra. The accident took place in Kulgam, and I have an eye injury. The facilities here are satisfactory.' Dr. Tariq, an orthopedic specialist at GMC Anantnag, reported, 'We have 8 to 10 patients here, most with head injuries. They are stable and will likely be discharged soon, except for one person with chest trauma who will remain for further observation.'
